“Come, follow Me...”
It stretches to infinity where cloud meets
the horizon with no diversion.
Nothing to distract the soul.
Only limitless space, no impediment.
No tawdry, safe, secure boundary.
It calls, it beckons, it woos. "Come, come hither.
Come onto the broad plain of ocean.
Walk boldly on the water.
Here is an adventure worthy of the risk.
Come, come hither. Walk on the water.
Step away from the sameness of every day.
Have some spunk -- flee the couch and Starbucks,
The dull round, robotic work,
Errands and shopping, trying to make meaning.
When days just run into other days.
Come, come hither. Empty, with nothing at all.
No iPhone, no lipstick, no wallet.
Come with nothing, but yourself.
And all that whirls, swirls untamed within your soul.
Come, come hither. Walk on the water.
Come, follow me.”
