![]() Sleep - or lack of it - is a major health problem in the modern world. We have trouble getting to sleep, staying asleep, feeling in the morning that we have slept. We take pills, do yoga, change beds, moderate temperature, try snoring aids, do progressive relaxation, try to sleep alone, open a window, close a window, and on and on and on. The health industry, meanwhile, is making billions off our inability to sleep! One sure way to at least get to sleep, is not only to prepare yourself for sleep by gentle stretching and ending device use a couple of hours before bed. It is also helpful to pray. To bring your day to a close by placing yourself in the presence of the Holy One and laying out the day, and then letting it go -- along with all the anxieties and burdens that the day has held. The service of Compline -- the last service of the day -- will help you do just that. Because you may not want to manage a book while you are in bed trying to go to sleep, I have recorded the entire service, so that you can listen to it as you go to sleep. I guarantee you will start sleeping better when your last thoughts and words of the day are centered in the Divine Love of God. Here you go: ![]()
